Cable KAV supplies various cables with its products. These include USB cables
(usually 5 ft. - 1.5 m.), Composite (12 ft.- 3.6 m.), S-video (12 ft-3.6 m).

CCD Camera - a Charge-Coupled Device. The specific technical detail is that in a CCD
sensor, every pixel's charge is transferred through a very limited number (often
one) of output nodes to be converted to voltage, buffered, and sent off-chip as an
analog (video) signal. All of the pixel can be devoted to light capture, and the
uniformity of the output (a key factor in image quality) is high. KAV Video
(analog) cameras and also cameras capable of outputting both Analog and Digital
signals simultaneously, will use a CCD camera.
Ceiling mount (Tile Support Rail) - Provided with the Ceiling DocCam II to allow
installation of this camera between the tiles in a standard drop (suspended) ceiling
[2 x 2 (0.6m x 0.6m) tiles or 2 x 4 (0.6m x 1.2m) tiles]. It is designed to be
installed at heights between 8 and 12 (2.44 m to 3.66m). The main support is a
metal plate [8.5" x 24" (21.59 x 60.96 cm)] which distributes the weight of the
camera on the support rail grid, preventing tile warping. A Plenum-rated
enclosure for the camera attaches to this metal plate, and allows the camera to
hang between two ceiling support rails.
Charger - (microscopes and cameras) (see power supply)
Chrominance - Portion of video signal that carries hue and saturation color information.
(see also luminance).
Coarse/Fine Adjust On microscopes Coarse and Fine Adjustment knob(s) are located
on the side of the microscope frame, usually below the stage, which allow the
observer to adjust the focus of the microscope. There are various kinds of coarse
and fine adjust mechanisms.
Coaxial Controls Consists of two knobs where one smaller knob (fine adjust)
is centered on top of another, larger knob (coarse adjust), both on the same
axle.
Singlet Control one knob does both coarse and fine adjustment. Excellent for
novice and young microscope users. Only the 1100, 1180, 1200, 1201,
and 1252 have a single knob, which operates a rack and pinion gear set.
Rack and Pinion refers to the interlocking of a series of gears and cams that
allows the coarse and fine adjustment knobs to interact. Most Ken-A-
Vision microscopes have a rack and pinion system except the ESH 200,
